A NEW LAND

OF CHALLENGES AND INNOVATION

FORCALQUIER: THE NEW

STRATEGIC TERRITORY FOR FLAVORS AND SCENTS

Our location is assumed: between the mountains of Lure and Lubéron, we draw our inspiration from the heart of Provence and its aromatic terroirs.

IMPORT NEW INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

EDEN ECOSYSTEM brings new industrial life to the land of Forcalquier thanks to the establishment of a plant extract production unit using innovative and clean technology.

This project contributes to enriching the local industrial fabric, in particular in the strategic sector of aromatic extracts, and brings new expertise with products with high added value.

DEVELOP NEW SECTORS OF AROMATIC PLANTS

Our ecosystem is based on ethics and we act on two objectives:

1) Develop new agricultural sectors to diversify the income of farmers, who are sometimes too dependent on conventional and historical sectors (lavender, lavandin, etc.)

2) Enhance the value of existing sectors by recycling distillation waste or by introducing agro-forestry practices.

PROMOTE EMPLOYMENT AND PROMOTE ATTRACTIVENESS

The establishment of Eden Ecosystem and our innovative industrial tool promote direct and indirect qualified employment linked to our sector: technicians, engineers, agronomists ...

We also actively contribute through our influence to the attractiveness of the Pays de Forcalquier in the field of aromas and fragrances.

IN THE HEART

FROM PROVENCE

LAND OF THE

EUROPEAN FUTURE

POLE OF SKILLS

AND RESEARCH

Our location is assumed: between the mountains of Lure and Lubéron, we draw our inspiration from the heart of Provence and its aromatic territories.

Home to the European University of Scents and Flavors, our territory is the new recognized center for training and teaching aromas and fragrances.

Through our establishment, Forcalquier illustrates this new boom identified in plant extraction and innovation.

EDEN ECOSYSTEM embodies the example of a pioneering actor, sensitive to this new fertile land turned towards creative projects and green chemistry.

After 12 years in the direction of natural sourcing for a large group, in contact with producers of natural extracts around the world, I became aware of a certain number of realities, but also of shortcomings in a sector that is still struggling to reinvent itself today.

This project was born from the meeting with Benoit Cassan, producer of essential oils in Provence and from the long discussions we were able to have together on the aromatic plant sectors.

We wanted a project that involves all stakeholders in the sectors, and uses as a basis respect for growers and taking into account their constraints, at a time when climatic hazards increase the pressure and fragility of aromatic plant sectors.

To respect this premise, it turned out to be essential to upset the business model - which we did - by deciding to involve our customers from the cultivated field and at each stage of the development of the extract.

We wanted a technology that brings real added value to the aromatic profile of extracts developed in strict compliance with the principles of green chemistry and the circular economy.

Without compromise, patiently, we put the pieces of the puzzle together and managed to set up a complete ecosystem, allowing us to bring unique added value to our customers while ensuring the harmonious development of the agricultural dimension ... because without plants grown in respect for agricultural rhythms, what about manufactured extracts… !?

Unmarked products, without the soul of what nature offers us.

Just one example: for me, who am of Corsican origin, I found in the ultrasonic total spectrum extract of everlasting that we have developed, all the facets of the plant that I perceive in the Corsican maquis in Balagne , and which is not found in classic essential oil. This extract with an amber profile, candied fruits, with notes of dry grass, was a revelation and made us understand that we had a real treasure!

Benoit CASSAN -cofounder- comes from a family of farmers, anchored in the heart of Provence in the town of Simiane la Rotonde, where he patiently developed his own crops on an agricultural estate of more than 200 hectares and ensured the development of his essential oil production company, which he now exports to the 4 corners of the world. He is also passionate about technique and for many years directed CRIEPAM, the flagship of botanical research, specializing in perfume plants.

Jean Philippe PARIS - Associate Scientific Director - is a graduate of a major engineering school, specializing in chemistry (ESPCI Paris). He then spent 10 years in a perfume house in Grasse, where he headed the laboratory in charge of R&D and innovation activities.

Jean Philippe is now passionately piloting the manufacturing and quality / regulatory activities of our laboratory. He imagined and developed with his teams for 4 years our innovative and ecological extraction model.

Antoine LIE - Associate Master Perfumer - was immediately won over by the dual perspective of the project, which consisted in both enriching the range of ingredients he uses, but also creating a strong and lasting bond between all the actors of the value chain. Antoine participates in the evaluation of extracts under development to validate their potential for use in perfumery.
